Spring Showdown Robotics Tournament
Posted 04/30/2018 03:54PM

On Saturday, April 28, our Tornado Robotics teams competed against 39 other teams at the annual Spring Showdown robotics tournament at Legoland in Carlsbad, CA. Spring Showdown- 10th Anniversary was the theme for this year’s competition and students were required to program their robots to travel over and around various party obstacles like "balloon drop", activate the "party punch" fountain, do the limbo, and collect "ice cubes" along the way.

Creativity, teamwork, and critical thinking were all on display as students worked collaboratively to program and engineer their robot to complete a variety of assigned missions. Although we didn't walk away with an award, all three teams represented the school in extraordinary fashion and collectively scored more points than in any previous year. Go Tornadoes!
