Physical development is an important part of every child's life. A child's ability to manipulate fine and gross motor tools will enhance their experiences in the classroom and in life. The athletic program encourages each child to physically explore the world. While each child will develop their talents and abilities to different levels of success, TURNINGPOINT's goal is for each child to have a positive experience and develop confidence in a non-competitive athletic arena. TURNINGPOINT students are taught to try new activities and to have fun.

Group lessons are given weekly to introduce new areas of activities. At the Elementary Level, weekly skills are introduced with a follow-up lesson later that week. The skills are varied so each child is allowed to find a level of success or an aspect of the game that they can master. After an appropriate mastery of some level is reached, lead-up games and team games are played.
Games become an important arena to practice skills, but also to learn valuable lessons about individual and group interaction. Before and after games, the staff reviews events of the game to reward positive behavior and to discuss work, competition, fairness, sharing, safety, and respect for equipment.
The overall objective of the physical education curriculum at TURNINGPOINT is to impart a basic knowledge of sports skills with an emphasis on a life time of enjoyment of participation.
