Traditional Camp Program Information

SPECIAL DAYS

Nothing says "summer" quite like Camp Special Days. Special Days are scheduled at various times throughout the month. Check out the Camp Calendar and Registration Form to find Super Water Slide Day, Fiesta Friday, Pine Car Derby, Luau Day, Sleepover, and Summer Olympics, just to name a few!

FIELD TRIPS

Part of the summer fun includes field trips to Pacific Park at Santa Monica Pier, a day at the beach, Soak City at Knott’s Berry Farm, indoor rock climbing, and a day at the movies. What a blast! (Please note that not all campers go on all field trips.)

GAME ROOM

The Game Room returns with non-stop amusement and fun. Pop-a-Shot is geared up for basketball shoot-outs, arcade games are revved up to go, and Dance Dance Revolution is on deck for you to boogie! Also, foosball, air hockey, and carom boards are just a few of the interactive games that await you this summer. Who will be pinball wizard this summer?

CAMP SLEEPOVER

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to have a sleepover with fifty of your closest friends? At our Turning Point Summer Camp sleepover, in our very own gymnasium, you will have the chance to find out! You will enjoy extra play time, late night games, a pizza dinner, a movie on the gym’s big screen, breakfast in the morning, followed by a lunch provided by camp. There will be an early afternoon dismissal for those campers who have slept over. (Please note that not all campers sleep over.)

Primary Art Exhibit

At Turning Point School, our Primary division students paint, draw, doodle, and construct to discover the fundamentals of line, form, color, and shape in an environment free of criticism. No one second-guesses a purple sky or a fuchsia dog here! This freedom provides students a perfect opportunity to explore their creativity as well as providing an outlet for their self-expression. It would be unfortunate for these masterpieces to be kept away from the world. Fortunately, at the end of each school year, students are able to show off their work at the Primary Art Exhibit. Individual students select pieces they have created for display in the show, and collaborative works created by the whole class are exhibited as well. Turning Point students and teachers from all levels tour the exhibit, and special visiting hours are set up for parents.
